Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information StratifyFX (Pty) Ltd collects, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. It is written to meet our obligations under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

Who is responsible

What we collect

What you give us at sign-up: your name, email address, a username, your WhatsApp number, your country, and your trading account number with our partner broker. Paid sign-ups also tell us which broker and trading platform they use.
Your account activity: when you signed up, when you were approved, what you download, and any trades you choose to record in your own private trading journal on this site.
Payment information: handled entirely by our payment processor. We receive a confirmation that a payment succeeded and a reference number. We never see or store your card number.
Technical information: basic data your browser sends when you load a page, used to keep the site secure and working.

Why we use it

To create your account and let you sign in.
To check that your broker account qualifies you for free membership. This means matching the account number you give us against our partner broker records.
To give you access to the right content and downloads for your membership level.
To take payment where you hold a paid membership.
To contact you about your membership, sessions and account.
To keep the platform secure and to prevent licence sharing and abuse.

Our legal grounds

We process this information because it is necessary to provide the membership you asked for, because we have a legitimate interest in running and protecting the platform, and — where it applies — because you have consented. Where we rely on consent you may withdraw it at any time.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

Our partner broker — limited to verifying that a trading account is genuinely linked to us. Your relationship with the broker is governed by their own terms and privacy policy.
Our payment processor — to take and confirm payment.
Our hosting and database providers — who store the data on our behalf under contract, and may process it outside South Africa. Where that happens we rely on providers who offer protection comparable to POPIA.
Anyone we are legally required to share it with.

How long we keep it

We keep your account information for as long as you are a member, and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet tax, accounting and legal obligations. When you ask us to delete your account we remove your personal information except where we are required to retain records.

Your rights under POPIA

You have the right to:

Ask what personal information we hold about you.
Ask us to correct anything that is wrong or incomplete.
Ask us to delete information we no longer have a reason to keep.
Object to how we are using your information.
Withdraw consent where we relied on it.
Complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa if you think we have handled your information unlawfully.

Email info@stratifyfx.co.za to exercise any of these. We will respond within a reasonable time and will not charge you for a straightforward request.

Security

Access to member data is restricted at database level, so members can only ever retrieve their own records. Downloadable files are held in private storage and are released only through short-lived links issued after your membership has been checked. Passwords are stored hashed and are never visible to us. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously and will tell you and the Information Regulator if a breach affects your information.

Children

This platform is not for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top and, where the change is material, tell members directly.

Please read this. This policy has been drafted as a starting point and has not been reviewed by an attorney or a privacy specialist. StratifyFX should have it checked, and should confirm whether an Information Officer needs to be registered with the Information Regulator.
